TEFLON

TEFLON was discovered in 1938 by scientist-chemist from the company "DuPont" in the American state New-Jersey. This chemist learned fluorine liquids and got the material that was stable to the high temperatures and mechanical influence. Once he freezed tetroftoretilen under the strong pressure and received a waxen white powder with particular characteristics. Politetroftoretilen - future Teflon was received accidentally.

In two years after this discovering they began the output of the new material called TEFLON. For a long time Teflon was used only in closed military and space industry. For example, the first moon capsule, disembarked people on the Moon had exactly Teflon covering. Soon TEFLON became known all over the world and was used in all branches of industry.

TEFLON has such characteristics: a low coefficient of friction, a nonstick surface, a stability to the chemical, can’t be destroyed by ferments and microbes, stable in the range of the temperature from -100*C till 260*C, durability and lasting.

Due to this characteristics TEFLON is irreplaceable in chemical, technical, food, light and medical industries, in building of devices and machines, without saying anything about the military and space industries.

Most of people know Teflon like frying-pans with a nonstick surface.

Since the February of 2006 Americans looks at this frying-pans with a fear: famous Teflon turned out to be dangerous. There were the laboratory experiments with animals, which were entered a grater doses of one of the covering components. This substance appeared to further the origin of the liver cancer, a low weight of newborns. It may cause the problems with the immune system and the process of the development. So it becomes to live easier but dangerous (1496 знаків).
