6. THE RIVER IN THE HEAVEN

6. THE RIVER IN THE HEAVEN

Above it has already been told, that Paradise is in heavenly Jerusalem wherefore the evidence of numerous places of the Bible is that. But still it is a lot of these biblical evidences, though it is a lot of them already it has been resulted above. Following two sections under the name Whether Bible words about Eden are so simple? and Whether words of the Bible about the East are so simple? too are devoted biblical evidence, that Paradise was, is and will be in the Heaven, instead of on the earth. In the given section besides purely biblical data, the author involves also arguments of the terrestrial plan, namely geographical and historical character.

Placing Adam in Paradise, the God has certainly placed him on the third Heaven that is in the heavenly City where Paradise is located. At that time the heavenly City still stood on the earth and gate of this City that left on the east were open in that place where the source of the terrestrial rivers of the Tiger and Euphrates begins. Now this is Armenian uplands located in territory of Turkey. No general river which would be divided then into four rivers (including the Tiger and Euphrates) there is present nowhere to be found. The Armenian uplands, of course, cannot minister a suitable place for Paradise and the paradise river. But in days of Adam in local places there passed suburb of the heavenly City and one of it, Citys gates settled down, from - under which left the paradise River (followed), being divided then, already on the earth, by four terrestrial rivers, Gen.2:10. It is necessary to underline, that these four rivers were quite terrestrial and were not paradise. For such great Garden what God's paradise is, the independent source of water supply was, certainly, necessary. The role of this source was carried out by the Paradise River of Life. Whether to be the river at such height? And whether to be the river in the heaven? Yes, so. About what I here write, was quite clear to inhabitants of some ancient countries, especially inhabitants of Assyria.

We will be transferred for some minutes to that epoch and we will look, as cities and palaces looked 2700 years ago. For an example, we will familiarise with the plan of building of an Assyrian city of Dur-Sharrukin. This city was capital of Assyria before capital has transferred to Nineveh. In northern part of a city there was an artificial platform in height in 50 foots and the area of 10 hectares. Builders have erected a palace on this platform. It consisted of 210 premises and 30 court yard. To inputs in a palace conducted access roads for chariots and vehicles. The big bilateral ladder connected a city to a palace. In a palace it was possible to pass through the big main gate. After assyrian king Sennacherib (it is mentioned in 2 Ki.18:13) has moved capital of Assyria to Nineveh, on his order workers have erected a terrace in height of 10 - the floor house. On a terrace the imperial palace has been constructed. Marsh evaporations here did not rise. Gardeners have planted magnificent park of rare plants before a palace, builders have made ponds which created cool*20. Practice of building of gardens and parks on artificial terraces of the big height is known from an antiquity. In all similar cases - whether it be in Assyria, Egypt or Babylon, the water supply problem, that is uninterrupted water delivery on a high-rise terrace was one of the main.

Certainly, gardens of Assyrian kings (or the same constructions in other countries of the ancient world) cannot go to any comparison with Paradise of the Lord: it all the same what to compare the sizes of one flea to the sizes of a steamship "Titanic".* 21. But if for suspension gardens of Assyria was enough several ponds of water, then for Paradise God's the whole river for irrigation is necessary.* 22
