Chapter 1 Prophecy of the book of Revelation on church in Ephesus

Here events which should occur throughout church existence in Ephesus are listed. (In the below-mentioned text numbering of verses of 2nd chapter of the book of Revelation is resulted). 2. The church has good affairs; work of this church is pleasing to the Lord. During church existence there are disasters and the big persecutions because of which the church suffers. Then in church appear dissolute people. Struggle of church against penetration of its circle of dissolute people and doctrines. Occurrence of the people which say they are apostles. The church exposes falsity of newly appeared “apostles”. 3. The church preached and extended Jesus Christ Gospel, bore other considerable work. 4. Subsequently the zeal of the given church was reduced. 5. Then have begun appeals to repentance, raised by Holy Ghost. However fairly soon the church has fallen into decay. As there has remained only external form, the Lord has removed the candlestick out of its place that is has, in other words, took away presence of Holy Ghost out of this church. There was a dead cover, dead ritual ceremonialism. Church activity any more had no live communication with God and soon should stop absolutely. 6. In spite of told, the Lord praises this church that it hates the deeds of the Nicolaitans, that is of the dissolute false brethren, and of the same, dissolute doctrines proceeding from them (the verse 2nd see) accordingly which women served as an occasion for deviation from the Lord to please to various idols. This doctrine led to commit fornication and to that believers took part in things sacrificed unto idols (see Num.31:16, Rev.2:14). 7. in the church there will be not only victories, but also defeats; not only winning, but also reconciling to defeats, for example: bear (reconcile) them which are evil (i.e. dissolute), and because of fear do not speak anything against of their dissolute doctrines. But God’s promises concern only those that overcomes. 5. The given church will not long exist and will "quickly” stop the existence.
