About the woman of 12th chapter of Revelation, who is she?
In the Revelation book on a theme about the woman any references is not available. Prophet Isaiah in 62nd chapter specifies that the woman (mother for all of us) is Zion. Also the place from the Epistle to the Galatians, 4: 26, 27 here concerns.
Psalm 132: 11 - one of the basic places of the Writings answering a question, who is woman of 12th chapter of the book of Revelation. In this Psalm we read about swear of Lord unto David: «Of the fruit of your body will I set upon your throne. If your children will keep my covenant and my revelations* that I shall teach them, their children shall also sit upon your throne for evermore. For the Lord has scosen Zion; he has desired it for his habitation… I will satisfy her (of Zion) poor with bread … There (on Zion) will I make the horn of David to bud; I have ordained a lamp for mine anointed... but upon himself (upon Zion) SHALL HIS CROWN FLOURISH». From this description we see, that the woman is Zion as upon her head that crown is visible, Rev.12:1. Considering of special importance of a theme about Zion, all texts about it, available in the Holy Writ (number above 100) have been studied by the author, but for brevity of statement here are resulted only most important of them.
In 2 Sam.5:6, 7 it is told, that Zion is Jerusalem (the strong hold of Zion, David's city).
1 Ki.8:1 specifies that Zion though was included into line of Jerusalem, but was in suburb as the ark carried from Zion to Jerusalem.
The psalm 9:11 specifies, that the Lord lives in Jerusalem in Zion, and that it, in essence, is the same place.
The psalm 48:2 gives even the big clearness, specifying, that the city of the great King is on mount Zion North side. The name Zion designates that congregation of saints, which Lord has purchased since olden days. This set of saints the Lord has redeemed in his inheritance, - is readable in the Psalm 74:2. Jesus Christ will reign out of Zion, is told in Ps.110.
Isaiah, 8:18. Apostle Paul mentions this place in connection with Church, Heb.2:12, 13. Some thread between Zion and Church is stretched.
Isaiah, 28:16. This basic and rather considerable for our theme the Writing place where it is spoken about the Christ, a jewel which lays for a foundation in Zion. The Church is under construction on the Christ, 1Cor.3:1 and the Christ is a stone in Zion. Thus, the Church is a structure in Zion; the Church is a part of Zion.
